AUTUMN/FALL IN SNOWDONIA  4 OCTOBER - 30 NOVEMBER

4 day fully-escorted Tour

Transfer to and from railway station

£599 per person, dependent on duration, (sharing twin or double-bedded accommodation) in an historic, Victorian 4* Hotel

Day 1  Collect from either Conwy or Bangor Station (just over three hours from London Euston). Explore the picturesque Walled Town of Conwy with its imposing Castle built by Edward I. Check into Hotel.

Day 2  Collect from hotel. Explore the town of Llanberis visit the Welsh Slate Museum, housed in the preserved Gilfach Ddu slateworks and Prince Llewllyn's castle, Dolbadarn. Take the Victorian steam train to the summit of Mount Snowdon*. Travel through the Conwy Valley to the famous Snowdonia village of Betws-y-Coed, and nearby Swallow Falls. Visit historic Caernarfon, the only Royal walled town in Britain, with its magnificent castle, built by Edward 1 as his power base in North Wales and seat of the English Princes of Wales since the 13th century. 

Day 3  Collect from hotel. Travel along the beautiful North Wales coastline to Caernarfon and take the Welsh Highland Railway* through the breathtaking Snowdonia Mountain Range to Rhydd Ddu. Transfer to Beddgelert – a pretty village surrounded by mountains.

Visit Plas Brondanw – home of Clough William-Ellis (creator of Portmeirion) and then onto Portmeirion Italianate Village and Gardens. 

Day 4 Travel over the Menai Straits by the Menai Bridge built by Thomas Telford to the beautiful Island of Anglesey (Mother Island). Visit Beaumaris, an enchanting Georgian Town with the most magnificient views of the Snowdonia Mountain Range. Take a boat trip to Puffin Island (subject to sailing conditions). Puffin Island is the home to puffins, when nesting, and seals.

Visit Beaumaris Castle – built by Edward I in the late 13th century and considered by many to be the most technically perfect medieval castle in the World.

Travel along the south side of the Island to Lanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysilogogogoch – the longest railway station name in the World

Travel to Bodnant Gardens – World, created by Lord and Lady Aberconwy in the 1850’s. Stroll through the famous Labernum Walk, enjoy the proliferation of bluebells, spring tulips and daffodils and the formal gardens of azaleas, rhododendrons, camellia and magnolia.

Alternatively, visit the spectacular Penrhyn Castle and the breathtaking woodland and walled garden of one of the most magnificent residences in Wales.

Transfer to Railway Station for return journey.
